OROPHILE EDIT

Editorial Standards

How this journal is written, checked and kept free of paid influence.

Who writes it

Orophile Edit is written and edited by Ahmet Can Yeşildağ, with over thirty years in the tourism, travel and hotel industry. It is published by Greenmountains Trade Ltd., Oakville, Ontario, which also runs Orophile Journeys, the advisory practice. The journal and the practice share a founder. The rules below keep one from selling for the other.

How each piece was made

Every edition and guide carries one of three labels, so you know what kind of evidence you are reading:

  • Walked. The author has been there himself.
  • Reported. Built on named sources and the voices of people who live or work there.
  • Researched. Assembled from published data and documents, cited, without a visit.

No paid coverage

  • No one pays to appear here. There is no advertising and no sponsored content.
  • Hotels, retreats and operators cannot buy inclusion, a better verdict or a removal.
  • If a place ever hosts a visit, the piece says so at the top.
  • Book links go to independent bookshops, and some may earn the journal a small share. That is disclosed beside the link. Film suggestions are a courtesy and earn nothing.

Essays do not sell

Essays carry no prices and no booking links. Each ends with one invitation: a free twenty-minute conversation with Orophile Journeys, for readers who want an opinion on their own plans.

Facts, dates and images

  • Prices, dates and conditions that matter to a decision are checked against a source and dated. They change, so check them again before you book.
  • Research findings are cited to the original study wherever possible.
  • Photographs are credited: from the author's archive, or with their source named.

Machines and judgment

AI tools help with research and drafting. The judgment, the first-hand accounts and the final word are the author's own, and nothing is published unchecked.

Health

Edit writes about rest, habits and restorative travel. It is not medical advice, and nothing here replaces care from a qualified professional.

Corrections

If something here is wrong, write to ahmetcan@orophilejourneys.com. Corrections are made on the page and dated.
